Overview
Tool:
Sustainable User Journey Mapping
Goal:
Map existing or potential negative impacts to tangible and actionable level and develop ideas directly on single user journey step level.
By doing this on a user journey level, you get very concrete and actionable ideas that are tangible and compact enough to fit project and product process realities.
Where and how to use:
Sustainable User Journey Mapping can be used for an evaluation on your own as part of your design or ux research process as well as in a workshop setting with various stakeholders.
It can be used on all levels from makro to micro level, for highlevel customer journeys as well as for very detail micro-user journeys.
Combination with other tools:
You can combine this with the Actor Mapping and the Needs to Consequences Mapping. If you do these two first for your product or service, you’ll create a perfect basis for the Sustainable User Journey Mapping.
Example
Use Case:
Amazon Consumer Website
Description
In the example we did the Sustainable User Journey Mapping for a Shopping Journey on the Amazon Website (why Amazon, because there are so many negative impacts).
